just got my new EBC HH rear pads and half a set for front. on back order for other half so only intending to do the back tonight.

The thought suddenly has occured that I should not ride it with sintered on back and old suzi ones on front until they have been replaced with sintered as well.

Hmmm I know cos I read the forum that the back can be pigs so I want to get them done ASAP in case I have to strip the caliper. damm if all goes well I might not be able to ride the thing until other half of brakes arrive.

I'm no eggspurt, but can't see why you can't do back 1st before front. It's not like in a car where the brakes are linked and with better brakes on the back my cause the rear to lock up. Just use a little less right foot!!
I'd agree with you and only do the front when both sides can be done at the same time.

If the rear has never been done before, then expect to either have to get a nother caliper or spend hours on the dam things being "carful!!" i opted for dam destructive - then bought another one!!

Or you could start on the rears but not actually put in the new pads! Just make sure the old ones are not contaminated and put them back in. Then when you come to do the fronts you know that the back will literally take 5 minutes! caliper off, pads in, caliper back on.

Yes as predicted the pins are siezed solid

By splitting the caliper I was able to get on pin out. the second was that tight that it sheared and I ended up drilling it out.

Now I need to go to my local dealer to get a couple of pins and a seal set

I think part no are:
pins: 69141-45000
seals set: 69100-32820

are these generally available or to order only?

I believe seal kits are generally available, pins iv never asked about!

Yes the pins are available as wll I had too get some during my bikes first winter. I would recommend regular checks & greasing of brakes as they always f**k up due to their exposed position. Start these checks from new as well.

Just been to buy the stuff. Would you adam and eve it. The seal kit is 16 notes. for 5 rubber rings.( 2 piston seals, two dust seals and an o ring for between the caliper halfs). total bill including the 2 pins and a sachet of rubber grease £24. So the pins must be at least £3.50 each for a 2" length of 1/4" bar with a small hole drilled for the R pin

Suzuki spares are rip offs. how much mark up must my local dealer have? at least 100% I guess
