Hi people, i've been on here a while now, but not had much to say! However, im hoping you might be able to help me out regardless?!
Im the proud owner of a Candy Grand Blue K4, with a few tasteful mods. Just recently, everytime I switch the ignition on, the cooling fans come on straight away, regardless of the temperature, even if the bike has been sat for a couple of days. Im just wondering if any of you have experienced the same problem and if so, what was the cause? If not, do you have any suggestions? Im not afraid of getting my hands dirty, as im a BMW tech (cars!) but im learning more and more about bikes all the time. Its all just nuts n bolts really!! My initial thoughts were a stuck relay or faulty temp sensor? Any help would be greatly appreciated Stu |

Good morning.
A dodgy fan switch sounds like the place to start. Un-plug it when the engine's cold & see if you have continuity across the terminals. If you have then it's probably had it. Cheers. |

Thanks for your help chaps, i'll have a play with it while at work today and let you all know.
2hys, if this is the cause, then i'd be interested in taking the switch off your hands. Thanks again, i'll reply results soon |

Hi guys, just to report...
I took the connector off the rad. temp. switch earlier at work and found that there was a little bit of water that had got into the housing, bridging the contacts and keeping the fan on! I stripped the connector down completely and made sure there was nothing rotten or corroded, sprayed her up with some WD40 n put it all back together and it works great now. Thanks for the help, Stu |
