Well, that wasn't fun.
Just been rear-ended pretty hard and not in the good way.
Fender is smashed, a couple of indies are ****ed, topbox is damaged, rear brake lever is banana shaped and numerous other bits and pieces. My back also hurts. I really hope it's not bad enough to warrant anything more than a day off work. Oh well, I'll figure out what needs replacing in the morning and give the nice lady a price to see if she wants to go with insurance. |

If your top box is damaged I'd say that was a positive result
Seriously hope your OK. If your backs still sore in the morning go and get it checked out properly.

Geez- sorry to hear it. I hope your back doesn't develope into something nasty.
Take it esy and if you need the time off to recover, take it- important as work is (I got the train in on the day of my spill- though sitting indoors on my own reflecting would have done no good either), espcially if you're self employed/don't get sick leave. If you go insurance, you should get back any lost wages if the fault's not yours- sounds like it isn't being rear ended... |

Numerous damaged little bits will work out to a lot of money.I'd go down the insurance route, and make a small but reasonable injury claim as well. The other driver probably thinks £50 will sort it,but I bet it will be that squared in the end.

Cheers all.
My back seems pretty good this morning. Will see how it goes but I'm hopeful that it was nothing major. I haven't been down to look at the bike yet, but I've got as far as £600 just estimating based on the damage I saw last night. I suspect she's going to want to go the insurance route, which is good and bad. It's good because it gets sorted out and I get a courtesy bike. It's bad because I don't get the opportunity to fix it on the cheap and divert the extra funds to shiny bits. I suppose there's always the chance that it'll be a write off, which I have mixed feelings on. Obviously that would mean I could buy a new bike but she's got just under 35k on so far so I suspect I wouldn't get a great deal in the payout. |
