Default Dogue de Bordeaux

So, I goes to see my bro today for his birthday. He manages a pub and lives above it. His partner owns it, and has just bought another pub down the road. The previous owners of said pub, left them some dogs!!!

I can't abide folks that abandon animals, which is why we ended up with Bob the dog. Apparently in this pub there were half a dozen dogs, one of which was a 3 month old dogue de bordeaux bitch. She was rather bullied and my brothers partner decided to keep her...I'm not sure on the others but somewhere in the conversation, there was rescue mentioned, so I think they must have all gone to a centre. My brothers partner took pity on 'Lola' and she is now living above the pub they live in now, with their two other Labradors.

I should have taken some photos of her, cause she is kinda cute in her dumbass kind of way. I know chaavy charactors get hold of these sort of dogs and give them bad reputations.
What I want to know is, if there are any orgers out there that have one of these rather large 'hooch dogs'

at the moment shes a bit bigger than this one, but shes goona get hoooooooge. My brothers partner says they will keep her for now til a point where she is healthier as right now her ears are pretty chewed, with an infection from being bullied. Shes goona end up like this

I agree about the people who just desert these poor animals, good on you for stepping in.

Although I don't have one, I know that the breed are very similar in mind to Staffies and English Bull Terriers, which we know a fair bit about. They can be very stubborn, but are generally family, loving, affectionate dogs. "Generally"

With anything 3 months old, the key is to socialise her as much as possible, and get her out and about (preferably off the lead as well as on, carefully) so she learns what is, and isn't acceptable puppy behaviour. She's probably led the life of an ASBO dog until now, getting away with most things without a dominant leader.

Whatever you do, don't keep her on the lead and away from other dogs because you don't "trust her" or want to protect her. She'll grow into a huge, powerful, protective, potentially dangerous (because she's scared/wary) animal. Remember loads of people will want to stroke the "cuddly doggy" - if she's not expecting that she could react pretty ...unexpectedly.

Make the most of her first 9 months of her life, you'll never get another chance to set her up for the rest of it. (I know if we saw any dog in those circumstances we'd just end up with another one, for life )

I'd recommend taking her along to puppy socialisation classes, where she can run free with other youngsters, as well as (try to) learn something - we did that with ours any they turned out (relatively) mentally stable!

Good luck!

looks like I'm going to have to take some photos of the actual dowwgie, cause she is sooooo cute, if I had a bigger house I'd smuggle her home, but shes getting better, even at my bros pub. I'm not sure they'll have the room for long, having the two labs........

Perhaps if I'm nice, Im Indoors will say yes to drooly dangley earrings..

all i can think of when I see her is......''this is not your room''
