After a cheap road legal dirt bike if anythings about for cheapish?

They come up occasionally if you keep your eyes open on the forums and eBay etc.
What's your budget? Btw, there are a lot of mx bikes being stolen ATM so if you buy private, take extra care in checking it's a coche one. |

Do you want a road bike that can manage a bit of off road, or an off road bike that is technically legal for use on a road? I've got a GasGas EC300 that is the later, and given I haven't used it for a couple of years that I might let go for the right money, but it depends on what you consider cheap?
