If you take the tax element off the cost of petrol you end up with a reasonable price for it.

I worry about the Government taking advantage of us not the cost of crude.

so that means diesel will be £1.10 a litre???? not good, by the end of the year i reckon £1.20 a litre will be possible if not more.

If LPG stays at a lower price i can see enough people going for it because it's purely cost effective if you can get the change done for £1k and your making 60p a litre back. meaning in 20,000 miles you'll be making your money back.

Northwind, the cost of fuel is massive to commerce and industry. BA spent £2b on fuel last year alone! What growth would we see if the tax was reduced?

Improved growth in the economy?
Improvement in manufacturing businesses?
More jobs?

The whole essence of Government means it costs us a fortune just to sustain it, and what do they actually do all these people in Whitehall et al?

Vehicle manufacturers should be encouraged to improve mpg and decrease CO2 emissions. We'd then have greener cars and cleaner air.
