OK here's another one.....

Two lane, fairly wide carriageway (ie one up, one down).... Filtering past stationary traffic - do you use the indicator (ie leave it on indicating "right")? Even though you may or may not be crossing the center line....?

No

If any of the cagers can actually see you, then its obvious what you're doing and a signal would just confuse them.

I'm sat on the fence for this.... I've seen both while I ride to and from work, and was wondering what the view is.

What about using the indicator while overtaking, however??

See I'd use the indicator for overtaking, but not for filtering (on the whole)...

Not usually. Unless the signal would help another road user. If you feel you need to signal then its probably not safe to to overtake.
