Default Refuge holiday

Anyone done one?

If you have no idea what I am on about you can see one (little hut) in this pic I took when in Andorra (you can do a where's Wally to find it!! ).

I think it might be fun going on holiday with nothing but a sleeping bag, compass, a map, a refillable water container and some dehydrated food ... plotting your way between refuges!!!

I did enough of that **** in Belize carrying an SLR and a bit more than what you described, tyvm. When I go on holiday I expect nothing but absolute luxury.

My friends did the GR20 in Corsica. Despite being committed hill walkers and mountaineers they had to evac the route when Louise's knee gave out. As Sara said, sounds like hard work to me.

I only go on holidays where you 'do' stuff ... I can't think of anything more boring than sitting on a beach all day or simply going out and getting p1ssed and then sleeping it off all day ... I can do the latter in the UK ...

Chapeau m8. Go rafting on a dock off big river then I'll fish you out in me kayak.

EDIT: As long as you pay for me to go!

I went swimming in that lake (see below) ... ~1.5 miles in the sky ... feck that was cold!!

See 2324 meters

Here's another example of me on a recent 'doing stuff' holiday ... yes people ... it's a one'sy!! (and yes I had/have grown my hair back for the winter )

That is about 2 miles up in the sky!!

I know what you mean. I went for a 3 mile run this morning before work, felt much less guilty about having pie and custard at lunchtime

Indeed ... I just finished troughing a whole packet of 'chocolate eclaires' ... but bearing in mind I started the packet as soon as I got back from the gym, its all fine

p.s. you are right ... a morning workout is also the best 'smugness' thing anyone can ever do ... for smugness factor, the earlier you do it the better ... 5am is the best
