I want to try and sort out a subframe slider back up for the bike on trackdays. A company already make some that bolt onto a single rear peg mount but they are very long and bend at impact. I want to bolt a mushroom/cottonreel/slider onto a piece of 1 inch square aluminium which can they be mounted to both rear peg mounts, but at the same time be slightly shorter than the other sliders when the bike's down. I reckon it'd be very unlikely for the bike to go down at such an angle that the home made slider will take the full brunt of the force and so stop the subframe from buckling.
Any thoughts or sliders welcome. ![]() P.S. it's for a new Daytona not an SV. |
