Mine was ?92 for a 2007 sport, 200 excess, garaged, alarm, sdp use. Renewed through Devitt. Been with them for about the last five or six years, never used them yet, touch wood, so don't know how they are in a problem situation. Helps being old and decrepit with lots of no claims.

I lost my full NCD because I didn't ride for a few years.
So when I got my 10R last year I only had 1 year NCD although I had held my licence for 12/13 years (31) and I kept the bike garaged but the best premium was £1150 comp with £500 excess. This year I was quoted £600 (£500 excess again) but went on confused.com and Motorcycledirect would do it for £241 with a £750 excess. I will probably go for that. Even if I wrote it off I'd have to think twice about claiming as I can't protect my NCD so a claim would mean losing it and being a high risk - so no chance of ever getting insurance again. So if I did £1000 worth of damage I'd still pay out of my own pocket. If I had to make a claim for a write off then the excess would be £250 more than with the £600 policy but I'd have saved £360 on the premium! |
