Hay guys and gals,
After several unsuccesfull atempts at sorting out the fast idle speed, carb cleaner, throttle cable adjustment, choke adjustment. I am getting my brother in-law to service the carbs and balance them. Question is do I need any consumables such as o rings / seals that need replacing while I have it apart? Decided not to remove them myself as Aberdeen weather is unpredictable and generally always cold. So taking the bike on an adventure to the Shetlands to my brother in-law and a large warm workshop! While there I am going to give it the big polish and post some pictures and introduce myselp properly. cheers. |

i done a job on my carbs, well, de-cloged them as they were sat on the bike in all weathers for 8 months, and the bike didn't start
i think if you get in there and have a go, you'll see how easy it is to do. I didn't know anything about the curvy 650, and when taking the carbs off, it was quite easy i thought. Just cleaned mine up, as they needed it, take the floats out and clean them up, and blow out the needles/jets. And you should be ok i'd of thought, well, this made my bike work anyway. Just take note how you take them off, and you'll be ok. If you need any advice on the removal just ask. ![]() |

Thanks for that, not to worried about taking them off I just dont want to do it at the side of the road!! Will look for more advice if I get stuck.
Anyone know if there is something worth replacing while I have them apart? |

When you put it back together, pack the choke cables with grease, I've got some thick spray grease and the nozzle on that is perfect for the hole on the side of the cable splitter.
