So got an Oxford tailbag the other day.
Fastened the velcro strap attached to the bag under the pallion seat = fine The bag has 4 bungees underneath the bag (2 each side) and 4 on the side of the bag (2 each side)to fasten to the bike = sounds good. However, apart from the pallion pegs there's no where else to fasten the bungees to = Now I am cheesed off ![]() Now I know why people get the rack, plate and a top box. |

I use the oxford 1st time tail pack.
You need the long bungees and have to fasten them all to the one point (the little hooky thingy near the pillion foot pegs). Once on it holds just fine. |

I'm sure I've posted this before...but not sure where..so I'll say it again.
I use an oxford sports extender tailpack. Make sure the bungees on the bottom are in an 'X'. 1. Fasten the front left hook to the bungee mounting behind the left pillion peg. 2. Fasten the other end of this bungee to the small peg on the right underside near the back of the pillion seat. 3. Do opposite with other bungee. If you are not extending the pack, that is enough (with the underseat strap). If you extend the pack, clip another bungee from the black plastic loop on the side of pack (near the zip at top) to the pillion peg hook, and repeat on other side. I don't undo the velcro strap when I take the pack off, I just slide the seat out - makes it quicker to put on next time. HTH Jo |

Thanks guys
![]() The tailbag was from Hein Gerricke and was £10 reduced from £29.99. However, it wasn't big enough for a helmet to fit in. I took it back this afternoon and once I'm happy with fitting a tailbag to the bike I will buy a bigger bag. I was amused today though. I went to a bike dealer and asked about fitting a tailbag to a SV. The guy was good enough to show me how he'd fit one to an SV1000 S (no other SV650 in stock) and the thing was all over the place. The first time wind hit it, it would be off - probably into the wheel!!! |

Not the same bike, but this is how I attatch my Oxford tailpack to my GSXR.
I use the bungees it comes with in the base and then I use another spider set across the top and kinda cross attach the bungees in a X pattern over the top, seems to hold it steady. Only trouble I've had is that sometimes I mount it to far forward on the pilion seat and slips forward and thumps me in the back... ![]() ![]() ![]() HTH

bungy net, rucksack, bin bag = water proof tail pack
No I'm serious. Works better than a tail pack because it's lighter and easier to carry off the bike. |

I have used the small "pins" under the pillion grabrail for my oxford lifetime tailpack succesfully for months.
Takes a bit of doing, use some fabric to protect the grabrail and hook the bungee hook over the grabrail itself and round the "pin". Hasn't moved since. HTH |
