Default SV rim size and alternative styles

Morning all!

Just wondered what size the front and rear rims are on the sv650s k5. Im thinking of getting some new "shoes" (rims) to polish up the look of my potential SV.

And i also wondered if there were any nice looking wheels that other bikes have as standard which are the same size as the sv's......but a bit more visually appealing

Thanks

Ross

It's always complicated and possibly expensive swapping wheels, you've got lots to consider, bolt patterns for discs and sprocket, offsets of the same, bearing sizes, spacers, speedo drive. etc etc.

Unless you want something for performance reasons or for the sake of it it's going to be stupidly complicated.

What about powdercoating, deseaming and polishing the stock ones?

Hmm.... not a bad idea. Dont suppose you know anywhere in the midlands that would do that do you.

p.s. what is deseaming?

Grind off all the marks that aren't smooth, like the ridges and text on the wheels.

O right..... How much should I expect to pay for 2 wheels to be deseamed and then powdercoated?

No idea, I'd use a specialist motorcycle place though, or take advice from them, as powdercoating involves heat, and you wouldn't want to change the state of heat treatment of the wheel alloy.

As easy as putting on your trainers and adidas 3 stripes

Have you got some in burberry print?

God...im not a chav.... Besides its not burberry....Its donnay or kappa! God i love soccer sports. Get all me trackies from there...innit! lol

p.s. is rim tape looked down upon in the biking world. I think it can spice up a set of otherwise boring wheels!
