Thumbs down IRIS chains

Just a heads up

Do not recommend using Iris chains , mine was knackered after 8k ( scotoilered) miles & front sprocket was also showing wear .

Normally get min 20 k + out of a chain .

To the garage's credit when I compalined they replaced c&s kit with a Tsubaki gold x ring & JT sprockets for 20 quid (extra cost on iris c&s) & fitted foc

Cheers Steve

Used several times, never been a problem. How odd.

I dont like them either, made from elastic material stretch like a elastic band. Had one on my KTM520, only had it on a bout a week, then cracked it on back wheel and ching, chain snapped. My mates say if you oil them they will last for ages which is bull poo, as DID ones go forever without major maintenance and let you know they knacked before they snap.

Into bikes sell as a kit- Tsubaki chain and either JT or chiavarelli sprockets-

Seems reasonable to me (I expect delivery will be a tenner ish).

Is there a difference in performance between x and o ring chains? The kit with the o ring chain is £90+delivery. Adding mechanic labour for fitting, this'll bring it in under £140 for me.
