Which TV ? - SV650.org

Am just after some opinions here cos i haven`t got a clue

My son`s birthday is coming up and I`m buying him a tv (prob 37" or 40") the tv will mainly be used for his X box games so am wondering whether plasma or LCD would be best for this kind of use.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks Kwak... and thats the sort of price I was roughly expecting to pay. So is LCD better than plasma for the xbox games?

Any brand name LCD with HDMI that is on a good offer.
We have sony bravia, philips and samsung. Samsung has rubbish sound, pictures good on all of them.

dunno about that but you will pay more for plasma, ive had a few things off ebuyer and they seem like a good company with no problems.

I have a Sharp Aquos Screen that displays 1080p HDTV and the picture is amazing , it`s LCD and nowadays they are good enough for gaming on any of the new consoles .

+1, I have a 32" samsung and is fine for xbox. I've heard a few people mention bad sound but I can't find anything wrong with mine. I'd go for lcd over plasma.

I'd buy him a pushbike, a rugby ball and some boxing gloves, not endorse that he sits at home with an X-box!!

Anyway, to actually answer your question ... I am no expert in this area -but a mate is, I seem to recall him saying something like you can experience 'ghosting' with some LCDs and High Definition TV/gaming can't you?

Someone expand on this for me plz!!
