Any compatible front end that would easily transform the front end of my 1999 curvy would be a great help.
Getting all the different parts seems a little confusing to a newbie! Cheers guys |

I think there is a problem with your post...
The word EASY! Have you done a search here to see exactly whats needed? In short you want a complete from a 96-99 SRAD model GSXR. Unless you go to a breakers (or someone breaking a bike) then your not likely to find it all in one place. Forks, especially RWU ones, are quite cheap now - I saw a set of SRAD ones go for less than £50! Try a search first and the search ebay -if you've got more questions there are quite a few people on here that will lend a hand. The only part about the conversion that I'm not familiar with is reconnecting the speedo... I've done 0 miles on my SV in two years... ![]() |

You can actually use either!
I've gone the handlebar route, I think if you used the stock GSXR clipons for the forks you get - they sit too low! Someone else will confirm - if you wanted clipons - then you'd use TL1000 Clipons... But if you wanna keep your straight bars you'd be okay! ![]() |

Complete GSXR750 SRAD front end for the USD forks and and a bearing set from Twin Works Factory (USA Company) for an 'easy' swap. You can press the SV steering stem into the GSXR yokes but this requires some metal to be braced and then millled off the SV stem to fit, also requires a shim being made for the larger diameter top yoke hole too. Your easliest speedo option is run it off the rear wheel, although the magnet sensor conversion does work just as well off the front.
As for having naked bars fitted that isn't a problem, you could either modify the GSXR top yoke with risers or simply swap the top yoke with a new top yoke conversion piece. |

It's not hard, but you do need to be a bit imaginitive.
I got 600SRAD (right way up) forks, yokes, spindle for 40 on ebay. Also used a TLS mudguard, busa front wheel and discs, SRAD750 calipers. Used the bearing from TWF, which is an easy enough swap, to mount the clocks I built up the bottom of the top yoke with fibreglass and chemical metal and drilled and tapped that. Oh yeah you'll also need some headlight clamps, but they're dead easy to find as they're the first thing anyone who crashes their sportsbike looks for ![]()

Maybe would be cheaper to upgrade the stock forks?

That is indeed correct, although you may have trouble finding a right hand side clipon, it's taken me about 4 weeks to find one!!!!

Yup, however....
What you're looking at there is a preload adjuster, all that does is squash the spring a little bit. All that will give you is better control over initial position of the suspension. Springs and oil are basically setting the bike up for your weight. The GSXR conversion on the other hand is a completely different system of damping, still uses oil, but instead of simple holes in a pipe, the GSXR forks have a system which uses something like flexible "shims" to control the flow of oil in a much better way. Similar effect can be had from fitting "emulators" or a full on cartridge conversion. Also if you use the SRAD600 forks or the K1-K3600 forks then TL clipons are no good, you'll need some from IIRC a VTR1000, as the 600 forks are right way up.
