Hi All,
When my sv is running, I can't get it into neutral. Switch it off, and it pops in no quibbles. Any ideas? Another thing is in wet weather allot of steam comes from the radiator and it smells a bit of burning. I have been told that it is normal. Can anybody please confirm this? Many Thanks! ihitge |

The Sv clutch does drag a bit and it's best to put it into neutral as you are still rolling. However check your clutch lever play and cable adjustment
The steam is quite normal. Have you got a fender extender fitted? |

Thanks petevtwin650,
I will check it out. I only got my SV about a month ago and I have no idea what a fender extender is. Could you please enlighten me? |

Greetings, as you don't say I've no idea where in London you're located, but if you get yourself down to Soho any Friday evening (location at the top of the Soho section) I'm sure some of the guys will have a look for you.
Oh and a fender extender is just that, black bit of plastic that extends the front mudguard about 4 inches, cuts down alot of spray from the tyre and stops the front plug foulling. Cheers Mark.

It's an extension to the front mudguard, stops crap from getting on the engine and helps prevent the "water in front plug" problem

This is a fender extender.
Helps keep the bike clean, but most importantly stops the front cylinder from cutting out in the rain, which could be the source of your burning smell. ![]() |

Chain adjustment & oil level also affect the ability to find neutral - so check they are correct.
A blip of the throttle helps select neutral. |

But rolling to a stop in Neutral works well. |

Found out the other week if you're having trouble finding neutral release the clutch close to the bite and then bring it back in and try putting it into neutral. Worked well for me!
