Hi,
I have spotted this SV in a local Suzuki dealership and I wondered what everyone's thoughts were on the price. "2000 X Reg SUZUKI SV 650S 650cc 16,900 miles, YELLOW. A very clean SV, supplied with a race can + std & fitted with Suzuki Faring Lowers and a Meta Alarm. As with all our bikes it is HPI clear and will be serviced prior to collection. £2,399." The bike looks very clean (from the pics) and I am keen to buy from a dealership as I have very little bike experience (being a born again) so want some sort of guarantee around faults and also want to pay by credit card, hence me looking at Trade ads. Parkers has a price of £1800 which would seem reasonable for a bike 8 years old but I wanted some other opinions and suggested prices, If I decide to go for it. I have to square it with 'er indoors yet, which may be the biggest problem ![]() Apologies if this is in the wrong (mods please feel free to move) |

That's a lot of money for an old bike. There are much newer ones for sale on here for less.
At that mileage you'd want to make sure the 15,000 mile service had been done too.

yeah seriously there is a guy on here selling a 2000 mile old SV650 2005 in red for around the 2700 mark.. so id say 2300 is way to high even for the mods

Toooooooo expensive.
Dealer - £2k tops I'd suggest, private that'd be more like £1500. Plenty around, take your time.

wouldnt pay that at all! you could get a pointy/2003 onwards model sv650 for around the same price as that maby even a bit cheaper than that!!
or you could get the same sort of bike and age for alot cheaper than that sort of money. ![]() |

Thanks for the feedback guys. As I suspected, it's way over-priced. I may have a wander over and see what they're willing to knock off, plus I'll keep looking around.
Test isn't until the 21st so it'll be sitting collecting dust until at least then anyway. Fingers crossed only until then ![]() |
