The footpeg was hurting. Mourning the loss of the left hand side front indicator cover (its best friend) that was stolen by pikeys, it was definitely glum. It hated having those big smelly feet on top of it all day. When it came to the low speeds the bumps were oh so painful and at the high speeds, the vibration made it cry a little bit.
One day, it decided it had enough and dropped off, barely able to muster the energy to do that as it had spent its energy undoing the bolt that held it on with it's tiny, tiny hands. As it fell, into the road, many many cars ran it over, and it was with many a naughty word that it's owner drove away, leaving it behind as it was a very busy road. But as the hours passed, the footpeg began to feel even lonelier. The heavy fog was making it sneeze and the heavy cars with their silly rubber booties kept hitting it over and over again, and nearly none of them said sorry as they went past. It missed its home. Alas, it looked like it was going to be a sad ending for the loneliest footpeg; but what was this! He heard the familiar grumble of his owner trundle by and stop. He heard him looking out for him, in the dark and the fog, a long time after he'd been lost. Finally, his owner (a very impatient person) gave up and was ready to get a new footpeg (how fickle!). So the footpeg gave a cry of sorrow; and luckily he was found! The footpeg apologised and promised never to do it again and everybody was friends again. The moral of the story is, don't think it's just weird that your footpeg keeps turning itself over when you get home from work and tighten the bugger up instead. |

This story is now complete with a trip to Parkers and 8p later the footpeg had three new friends- a bolt and two washers. Delicious.
