Default tell me why I need an SV

Ok, well I started biking almost 18 months ago now. Bought me a dinky Yam Sr125 which did me proud. I then passed my test 11 months ago and got myself a honda xr250. That was great fun, both on and offroad. All the while I had the xr, I craved a bigger, more road orientated bike and I found everything I wanted in the SV. Gorgeous meaty sounding Vtwin engine and the styling on both new and old shape models is brilliant.

Sadly I had the xr250 stolen. I relied on this bike so I needed a cheap replacement asap. I bought a bandit 600 and that has been doing me proud for the last 4 months. I will mention at this point that I am restricted to 33bhp until next july. However, now that I have got used to a big bike, and will soon be starting working full time I am considering buying one of my dream bikes. A naked pointy SV650.

So the only point to this thread really is for you guys to convince me that I should sell the bandit and buy the SV. Advice/experience/pictures all welcome

Thanks

You want an SV because you are jelous of me having an SV

I don;t know if the SV will actually be a better bike, it certainly wont be worse, at the least it will be equal. It might be easier to ride than the IL4 bandit, because of the low down torque. Oh, and I know you like your bling; bling and SV's go together like a rapper and...bling

Oh, and the sound.

SVs are accepted to be better restricted that IL4 restricted due to their power being developed lower down in the rev range. Also, there is a reason Bandits are called "Blandits"

Also, if you buy off members of this site, you can be reasonably sure that you won't be ripped off, and that the SVs have been well looked after. Sv-robo's bike is one of the nicest I have seen personally, and Yorkie Chris is one of the best spannerers on this site too, so his bike should be mechanically very sound (don't make me a liar here Chris!)

One final point, I bought a naked SV which I thought looked way better than the faired model. But now I kind of want a faired one, due to a number of factors such as touring ability, windblast, riding position. Evaluate why you want a naked; mine is great for round town, really comfy sit-up position, but as soon as I try to go really fast or really far it becomes a pain.

Good luck man, SVs are enourmous fun for the amount of money they cost!
