As is very topical at the moment, just thought I would share......
Car: Mondeo 1.8 TD (95 N reg) Went to full up last night, after driving in a very economical manner for the whole of this tank. Trying to keep the rev out of the turbo range, etc etc. 52 litres at a total of £67!!! £67 to fill up the damn car. Then I looked at the milage completed since last fill up: 522 miles. Not too bad, nice simple maths, 10 miles to the litre. 10 x 4.55 = 45.5 mpg! I think thats ok when you think it's an old deisel, with 177,000 on the clock. Plus most of the milage is commuting on main road, with quite a few stop / starts. So she's not a bad old girl after all!! Very pleased with her performance, just wincing at paying for the fuel. I think the only way I would beat 522 miles on a tank is to just spend all my time on the motorway at 60mph! |
