Default Various paint damage - what can I do?

There are a few areas of my SV's (650 03 Silver) paintwork that are a bit shabby, I bought the bike in this condition but I'd like to tart it up.

Basically, I'm after some advice on what I can repair myself, what I can pay to be repaired, and how much it's likely to cost me.

Scratch above front lights (screwdriver?):

Fluid leak corrosion on crank case:

Chip on tank:

Rubbing on seat cowl:

Cheers.

they all look really small things if you where 2 take the bike 2 a paint shop im sure they would do it for very little money.

as for the caseing you can buy paint for it and do it your self.

you could just get a touch up brush for the cowl and tank (this will not be perfect) for about a fiver

because your colour is 2-tone metallic it costs alot!!! a paint shop would have to order at least 0.5lt of paint to sort this out and frankly it would look $h1t as you would need to paint the whole thing to get it matching without any tear drops on it.

doing it with a touchup marker is another option as suggested above but tbh just go buy a silver permanent marker and do it yourself.

if you need details of a paintshop in Manchester I can give you my mates details and he can quote you for the job

from your profile name, i presume you are in manchester - so am i
i work for hmg paints www.hmgpaint.com

we make paint for all sorts of applications. (this is not a sales pitch, honestly)

here is a reputable 'small' paint shop that i know of that would be able to sort all the jobs for you:
Hambletons, Egerton Street Droysden 0161 301 4444
(Ask for John)

you might like to use this as an opertunity to make the bike your own colour, if you decide to have the whole bike done. as prev' mentioned touch up pens are rubbish, they rarely match & the metallic flake does not lie down correctly as it does when sprayed. if you get the paint made yourself you can get whatever colour you want.

feel free to pm me if you want any more info.
Alan

ps - i have a little paint chip on my tank. i got a sv650.org sticker to put over it & it now looks ace

The tank and cowl can easily be done yourself.

Get a touch up kit, and carefully fill in the holes with paint on a cocktail stick. Don't worry about going a bit over the edge, and when you're done painting, rub over it with a cutting compound or just t-cut - to blend it into the surrounding pain work.

Those two blemishes are so small you will have trouble finding them again if you take your time and do it carefully. Just keep rubbing the touched up area with t-cut till it blends in and then polish and wax over the top till it sparkles.

i wouldn't even attemp the other two bit, unless your not to fussy about finish on the crank case and then you could spray it with hamerite or something.
