Angry Council tax.

Recently moved home and the council tax has jumped up 2 bands. Now that entails 1400 odd quid a year.

Barstewards.

Bring back the Poll Tax! Then you would not be paying anything different, unless you moved council areas. Being on Poll Tax used to save me a packet (and would now!!).

1100 quid in york was 1200 in west yorkshire...

and I've tried to start recycling but in the past month, the bin men have left my bin un-emptied twice because I put washed out plastic bottles in the green bin, when it turns out the green bin is for garden waste only, and plastics should be put in a small box next to the green bin... Sod it then, I'll start having garden fires and destroy the ozone layer if they're gonna get all jobsworth on my ass...

Mines expensive I could do with poll tax probably, although being young and Niave I'm not sure if it would really benefit me at all.

Not sure what my council tax gets spent on mind, I just pay it.

That's what baffles me. Is it for emergency services, getting your bins taken out etc?

Or not getting your bins taken out in Pauls case!

Mine is £129 / month over 10 months.
We have a green bin for rubbish, and now a brown bin for garden waste.
it is on the cards that we will get a blue bin for recycling, instead of the flower box things. But if we get a full size recycle bin, our normal bin will only get emptied once a fortnight!

I tried looking on the local council website but it wasnt very clear, obviously theres the police/fire side of things which I can appreciate.

Our bin only gets collected once a fortnight though and they are 50% the size of a conventional wheelie bin.

My girlfriend and I pay £148 between us which probably is nothing compared to what some people with massive houses and some londen/southern people probably have to pay lol
