just got flashed need some advice please

was on my way back home on the a23 i was just heading up towards thornton heath pond saw a camera slowed down from it and saw i was doing 31mph then saw a flash in my mirror. im not sure if there was a sencond flash but did get one.

what happens now as ive heard these speedos are upto 10% out and if your only afew mph over the limit some people have been let off is this true?

im just abit worried as i only got my licene 7 weeks ago and would really like to keep it

They give you 10% on the limit... if you were doing 31mph in a 30mph limit. I really really wouldnt worry about it.

Was there a lot of traffic about, are you sure it was you that got flashed and not another vehicle..

You'll know in 14 days or so as thats the time limit for the NIP to come through, but I dont think you have anything to worry about.

It wouldnt of flashed you for only doing 1 mph over. And chances are your speedo over-reads. You will be fine.

You should be fine mate, but it is worrying. I was coming back from Stormy Petrel a few weeks ago and a camera on the other side of the road flashed as i came up to it. There were no other cars around in either direction and even if for some weird reason it was flashing me i obviosuly have no front numberplate so it couldn't have caught me. Didn't stop me stupidly thinking about it till the 14 days was up though!

You can never tell until 14 days after, but if you were only doing an indicated 31 you were probably only actually doing about 28. Don't lose sleep over it.

A friend of a friend got done by a speed camera when he was nowhere near speeding, so (stupidly) he turned round and went back through it again, under the speed limit, and it flashed him again. So he did it a third time, and again, it flashed him. Happy that he wasn't speeding on any of the three occassions he then left, only to receive three tickets through the post for not wearing his seatbelt!!!
