Probably not.
You could undo the clamps and using whatever you got handy, raise the bars to get an idea.....especially if you intend to use one of those handle clamp riser thingys. By the way, Renthal Road 'Low' Handle Bars are about an inch and a half higher than the standard K3 on bars an dthe 'pullback' is very close too....measure and eye balled figure I should add ![]() Where about are you based? I put a pair of bandit 600 bars (well, advertised as such on eBay) and they turned out to be almost identical but about max 1 inch higher. Most cables just about reached, but I had to cut the plastic a bit around where the brake lines are attached to the yoke and modify the clasp there as it was holding them back. So in short, not much more height can be gained but possibly about up to an inch. HTH

I've been wanting to make the bars higher (same bike) for a while but I've been thinking about getting bar risers. Just interested to find out what made you go for bars instead of risers? It's more work to take everything off and then put everything back on the new handlebars.

Try SW Motech up & back risers
http://www.bykebitz.co.uk/acatalog/H...Up_&_Back.html I've had them fitted an SV650 K6 N for 2 years with no changes to cables or hoses and no problems. |

I will have a look at these. Good to hear that you didn't have to change any cables and hoses.

Hi
See the pics. I've done nearly 8000 miles with the cables extended like this with no problems. I find could not ride it without the risers now. This is the limit with the standard cables & hoses. I prefer to use the risers as returning the bike to standard is easy. You can raise the tank no problem with the risers in place, you just have to turn the bars slightly to clear the tank. You can see the left and right lock in the pics is ok. The can't see in the pics but the electrical cables are loose and have more free play. The brake hose and the throttle cable limit taking it any higher. |
