Default NHS Hospitals - Are they all the same?

Anyone else dismayed by the state of the NHS service. I cant think of 1 time we (my wife is 24 weeks pregant) have been there over the last few months without at least 1 issue with their service. Now we have had simple blood test results confirming a potential problem - would be ok but the tests were done the 3rd of July and we should of had the results in a week. Everyime we just get a sorry....always sorry...

We are considering changing hospitals to get better service. I am not so sure this will help though and not sure what to do here... Also feel incredibly dismayed for other people out there getting that are getting the same crap

For maternity stuff, some places are better than others. Some of it depends on your history with having kids and whatnot, and mostly depends on the 'can-I-be-ars3d' nature of the midwives on the unit/ward.

My sister had her boy about 6months ago now. She lives in Bradford, but opted to have her kid in Dewsbury (partially, cause her mother-in-law works there). My wife and I had our little girl 3 months ago in Bradford. We were all looked after well (we've got an odd history with pregnancy, so got a little better looked after).

Of course, some midwives were just a waste of space, and a jobs-worth security guy would have treated some of the ladies better (and actually done their job instead of gossiping). However, there were some smashing midwives, and you couldn't fault them. Luck of the draw some times

If you're considering changing hospitals, try and get a few different opinions, and don't just listen to the good / bad ones

Self service - I like your thinking. It will probably be a C-section again as had complications last 2 rounds - hence the concern. Our options at this stage include leaving the country as we just want some decent service

where are you booked in? frimley has an alright reputation here and Wexham is OK too although they are having a lot of work done at the min. I would suggest heatherwood but if your wife is having a c section then she would be sent straight to Wexham anyway.

ask around at school Grant and see what the mums say
