Default bridgestone bt021's highly rated!

recently got my 020's changed for some of the newer versions, the 021's as they were rather bald, and my god they fill me with soo much confidence. the 020's were meant to be good tyres, but i didnt like them too much. these however, straight after being fitted fill me with grins!

havnt tried any propper sticky road tyres, but might treat my self to some soon and if they are better than these then i'm laughing!

I have to say that I'm of the different opinion. I recently had a set of 021's and I found them only slightly better then the D220's that come with the SV as standard. In the dry every time I tried to push the bike the tyres would bail out and it constantly felt like I was treading on egg shells. In the wet the only time they felt good was when I was going straight, as soon as I got to a bend the bike would go all skittish.

To make things worse the tyres went square-er then a square thing within about 500 miles. This was after 4K of a assortment of riding.

But saying that tyres are a very mute point, while these tyres didn't work for me, they may be perfect for many others. Much the same as the Pilot Road 2 that I've moved onto might be awful for many others. I guess it all depends on riding style, the roads, how much you push the bike etc.

Tyre's are personal preference, what suits you may not suit another.

Unfortunately these threads tend to lead to a debate on what are the best tyres, the fact is we all feel differently because we all have different riding styles, different needs and in many cases different set ups.

I love a rate the Avon's, nothing suits me an the SV better and yet my TL track bike felt best for me when it ran on Michelins.
