Just pondering a few things after reading the two stroke stuff in the what 125thread.
I'm considering something un-practical and un-reliable thats probably going to annoy me. So I fancy an RGV or an RS250. Something that I can ride in the summer and then put away again once I'm done. It doesnt need to be reliable I have the GSXR for that and I'm not averse to getting my hands dirty and doing simple stuff. I'm guessing a two stroke is going to be simple to expand my spannering skills on... I've read about power valves breaking off and I'm fully expecting frequent and often engine rebuilds and seizures. Again not bothered if its a 2nd bike. So what am I looking for ? Anything special to consider, anything to stay away from. I was thinking if I go down the RGV route it would be the banana swingarm model. Just after some thoughts before I give it more serious consideration. It wont be for a while as I wont know if I get a bonus till March 2009.

The RS250 is meant to be a bit better than the RGV but there's not a lot in it.
Personally I'd get an NC30/NC35, ooh look at that I just happen to have an NC35 for sale... Only downside is its really reliable. Druid

i've always wanted to have a razz on an rs250 but they seem to be getting rarer by the week. Or how about a more common rs125 but then have fun adding all of the aftermarket bits you can get your hands on - make it upto 125 GP spec (i don't really know anything about any of this so I'm just day dreaming out loud lol)
edit: turns out there's a sub section on a forum dedicated to aprilia tuning/bits/derestricting etc... could be a fun/cheap/semi-reliable way to have some fun ![]() http://www.tjtuning.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=7
