No, not in my pants (this time)
![]() What started it all off was earlier today, I basically decided to take a junction I had just passed and therefore had to do a U-turn. Rather than do a proper U-turn, I just hammered on the anchors, skidded the back and then turned it with the back still skidding (the first 90deg ... ) ... it left a really REALLY cool black line/mark ... ![]() So it was like a new toy ... the next 5 or so turns I skidded every one ... obviously then turning round to re-trace my steps and see my handy work!! .... what a big kid!! ![]() Who else does this?!!? (I am not talking about 'backing it in, just plain locking it up and turning on it with the intent to leave a darkie!! ![]() p.s. The roads were deserted before anyone gets on their high horse!! ![]() Last edited by Blue_SV650S; 12-09-08 at 01:22 PM. |

I did it one night unintentionally one night on the way back from work, combination of cold tyres and trying to improve my line from the night before, i downchanged and back braked on the white line, whoops out she steps. Missed the corner and rolled up the hill.
Went to have a look, by eck it looked good, but i left some skids in me shorts too, not a nice experience. Good job it was 12:00 at night ![]() |

I have done but dont want flat spot to turn up in the tyre lol.
Perhaps buy a supermoto, saw one of those playing about last night skidding and drifting round corners looked fun, pretty impressive.

One of the funniest things I have ever seen was when we were approaching South Mimms services on the way to the Nurburgring in August. Binky was ahead of us and suddenly noticed a red light on the traffic island - then skidded about 5 yards up to the line before casually putting a hand up to say sorry to DMC for the 'interesting' braking approach.
![]() ![]() I've only skidded the rear a couple of times unintentionally when it had gone light when I was on the front brakes. I've learnt to control it better now! I think I'd be too scared to try it on purpose! |

Used to about 15 yr ago on me old DT, road near me ended in a patch of gravel so used to stand up ,hit the back anchor ,swing the back out ,give it some beans in first peg and slide the rear round and back off up the road, keeping both feet on the pegs. Been tempted on the sv a few times but can see myself kissing the tarmac, good fun mind.

Yeah, I was mindful that if I got carried away and loaded the suspension too much it might spit me off ... so it was only on a slight lean, then the last 10 meters?? start turning in shaper ... prolly only doing ~15mph by then
