Default Rockingham Crash-athon

I was at Rockingham National yesterday and had a great time although we only had two sessions in which nobody crashed and that was good compared to the inters and the fast group.

The worst crash was bizarre, the fast group went out and somone crashed almost immediately breaking his leg causing the session to be red flagged, as everyone was coming into the pits a guy gunned it out of the hairpin and smashed into the back of a guy on an nc30. the guy on the nc30 was okay bar a few scrapes but the other guy was quite badly mangled and the air ambulance was called. Then, as both ambulance crews were busy, most of the afternoon was lost whilst we waited for another ambulance and the air ambulance.

Other than that it was a good day.

Nearly got my knee down as well.

Will try harder next time, it cost 130 with Hottrax on the national circuit which is a good one for the sv as there are no long straights so the lack of power isnt so noticable.

That guy sounds like he should have been lynched! What a ridiculous thing to do!

That sounds rediculous......was it raining sunday I cant remember.

I was going to do the 21st with Hottrax glad I didnt now lol we did the sunday before with No Limits instead.

The track is pretty good though, its the first time I had been to rockingham even though its pretty close. The lack of facilities is annoying, no where to get a drink or food and not brilliant for spectating unless the stands are open.

Its a fun flowing track, though not a fast one .....definately a very good SV track.

Food and drink are available all day on the other side of the track in the main stand building. There's a tunnel down some stairs at the left of the back of the pit garages that leads you under the track.

You can take the stairs onto the garage-top spectating area quite easily, and that gives a pretty good view of quite a bit of the circuit.

I asked a couple of staff and they said 'there a drinks machine there or a McDonalds down the road' lol

Didnt think it was that good on the pit garage, the other building blocked the majority of the view

Its a relly good restaurant where the staff are actually semi happy!!! ... sure you will pay through the nose, but the facilitys ARE there

Rockingham is probably one of the best overall equipped tracks in the UK ... plenty of clean bogs, big garages with electric, lots of paddock area ... (and yes, a 1/2 decent restaurant).

Its not the best for spectating ... but then I tend to run tyre warmers, ride, poo and eat, not spectate!!

As for the OP, sounds like there was a lot of wasted tracktime, which is a major bummer ... still sounds like you kept it sunny side up, which is a bonus

There seems a lot of crashing at trackdays these days ... what is up with everyone?
