Default Can anyone answer these?

Hi people
Can you send me a few quick answers to the following please?

1. What year and model SV's have carbs not fuel injection.

2. Which SV models/year have the forks clamps have the fittings for high bars?

3. Is there a clamp which holds down the camshaft, or is it just a typical cover. 1995 bike.

3. Anyone fitted Keihin flat-slides with K&N filters? Anyone got any or can suggest which models to use on the SV?

Thanks

99-02 carbs

02-onwards fuel injected.

s=clipons
n=handle bars (both fuel injected and carbed have both versions)

As for your other questions tht getting a bit too technical for me

  1. 1999-2002
  2. I think you mean the naked bikes, which have been produced in both carb and injection models, 1999 - 2008
  3. Upon removing the cam cover, there is an additional clamp that holds the cam shaft in place, one on the exhaust, one on the inlet, in both heads.
  4. Not me - mine's injected. I would guess most people just stick with the stock.

Thanks to you both.

Have just picked up a 1995 S from ebay. This is going to be converted for beach racing. That's the plan anyway!

First stage is to change the fork clamps to fit high bars such as Renthals. Then it's fitting MX wheels etc.

Should be an interesting project.

Will ER forks clamps fit the '95?

Dude, the SV was not produced until 99, I very much doubt yours is a '95 model

Answer to your questions;

1. 1999-2002 models (X-K2)

2. Naked 'N' models

3. Remove the covers and you will see the clamps.

3. Not worth doing on a low tuned SV, I run the standard carbs on my 800cc.

Actually people have seen significant gains just from putting flatslides on a motor with stock internals, but it's a whole heap of money and time compared to the gain.

Also flatslides are not allowed in the main SV racing series in UK (AFAIK), so probably easier to check on svrider.com.

Exactly, not worth it. I found the then 750 ran better on stock carbs than flatsides after a little experiment a couple of years back.
