Default Grrrrr. Three Mobile Rant

Sorry, just need to vent............

My contract was up for renewal with three, so I called them up to see what phones I could get - as you do.

I'd seen the Nokia 6220 Classic on their site - that supports GPS and comes with Nokia Maps. Hmmm, thinks me, that sounds pretty good.

So while on the phone to 'em I asked if there were any charges to use the sat nav. To which I was told there is if you download local data etc, but not to use the pre loaded maps. So I went for it.

I then called back again to confirm there was no charge for it - again, yes to download data, but not to use preloaded info.

Sooooo, reading last night, the phone comes with 3 months free of voice guided navigation, after which you go back to Nokia and buy it again (1 month, 3 months etc....). I wasn't told thisw ehn I asked about charges. Without the voice navigation, the actual navigation side of things does not work - you just get a nice map that follows you around.

On the phone today to get it swaped I'm now told that because I dodn't ask the very specific question of "is there a charge to use voice guided navigation" that I can't swap the phone.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

So I've told them to go and listen to the recorded conversations, and they are calling me back. I'm not holding out much hope.

Sorry to rant on folks, not something I normally do - but this has got me wound right up.

Gotta say, never had a problem with 'em for the last 18 months. They fixed my old phone when the software went wonky (technically out of warranty too) - and gave me a loan phone while they had it.

Ah well. Suppose it's minor compared to other stuff going on right now.

There is more than likely a cooling off period anyway. As long as you're within it, you'll be fine.

Im in dispute with the firm who set up my contract with 3 mobile.Usual thing of not honouring a cashback deal.3 have been quite helpful in supplying information about who this company is and tracing names of other firms involved.
As an aside I cant recommend One Mobile Village to anyone for anything if you remotely expect to get what they say they will provide at anything like the price they say it will be.You have been warned.

have you asked the question

"So if I want to end this contract right now today, how much is the balance to pay?" (usually the outstanding line rental)
when they tell you how much, ask them "Do you accept visa debit card?" or "can you put me through to disconnections/cancellations then?"

at this point, they usually start asking what they can do to keep you as a customer...

I've paid 150 quid of remaining line rental just to terminate my contract in the past. Then o2 rang me a week later asking what they did wrong. I just told them it was too late and not to call me again.

So a map that shows you where you are is no good for navigation? Sheesh, kids nowadays! When I was a cub scout the map was made of paper and you had to figure out for yourself where you were.

And if you need voice assistance, get married!

I am lol.

It's not the point of not having voice etc.... It's the fact I wasn't told about it when I asked.

Think I'll just forget about it now. No point it getting wound up I guess - 'casue at the moment they ain't budging.

Oh and Paul - I did ask about cancellation and it was summing like £280 more than i could sell the new phone for.
