Have you got the service manual - if so on the pink sticker inside the front cover in one of the sections is printed the paint code.

Failing that, lift the fuel tank and its printed on a sticker stuck on the underside of it.

I suspect yours is a K4, which IIRC did come in black.

Ill have a look there so, I have no book for it.
I have a feeling its all been repainted.
If I get the code from under the tank can anyone look it up for me and tell me if its black? or pink?

think k3's were only blue, silver, and copper so the best bet would be the k4 black. although if the sticker has been painted over it could be any colour.

edit: do you know of any other black sv's in your area, you could compare the colours and ask the owner

No one else i know has one in black.
its a 2003 german import?

I dont think the tank was originally black?
Im getting a silver tank and side pannels today to be sprayed.
Ill give him that code and ill show him the bike in black and see if we can get some thing close.
The dent in the bike is working out too expensive to pull out.
How much ball park figure should i expect? The side pannels hae scratched but the tank is in good nick.
Got a quote for the tank at 200e yesterday
169 pounds off a different fella yesterday.

i believe the majority of euro bikes are the same colour, it is simply the year they were released that differs
