Had a quick search to see if i could find any tips, but so far not found any advice. Just got some daytona grips but instructions advise a two-pack glue and not instant. I was going to use evostick impact like I used on the standard grips, but I'm a bit concerned that as they heat it will soften the glue and i'll end up with the grip sliding round the bar, especially on the throttle tube. Anyone got any recommendations they've used successfully on theirs?

Use Silicone sealant , that way if you do need to get it off you can give it a good peel or run around with a thin screwdriver . I had some grips die on me a while back and they were a git to get off . Silicone did the job nicely and even allowed me to remove the grips and put them on my new comfort bar kit . Not had a single problem with them being stuck that way

I tend to screw grip rubbers round on both sides when riding hard. Tried silicone a few times and it's failed every time.

Depends if you just smear it on the tube or bar and slide it on , I lift the end up of the grip with a screwdriver and put a good bead all around the inside and the same with the bit that butts up against the throttle tube . Probably depends on how tight the grips fit to the bar as well , hasn`t let me down once .

Cheers for the advice guys. I've got some adhesive silicone sealant which has gripped very well where I've used it so far so i'll give that a go first. Got a spare set of clipons so if it does come down to using araldite i'll get another r6 throttle tube so I can swap left clipon/throttle tube rather than try and take grips off and maybe damaging them. Noticed that the Daytona grips seems to have a film of mould release compound all over them from the production process so I reckon a good clean of the bore of the grip to get that off will help the sealant to stick them down better.

I asked this same question a while back. After having a grip work lose whilst riding.
HAIRSPRAY did the job. Yup, regular aerosol can. New grips, clean bars and hairspray. 24 hours later stuck on just great. Now I have been riding in all the bad weather and they are still on there good and tight. |

i've checked the calendar and it's not april 1st, so when all else fails i'll steal the ellenette from the bedside table and try that. just one question, what on earth possessed you to try hairspray?
