Default Seat rip, can it be repaired?

I just managed to rip the pillion seat on the CBR with my boot. It is a tiny v shaped rip, but it will really bug me now I now it is there.

Apparently a Honda seat cowl for it is about £150, so that isn't really and option.......the OEM one I bought for the SV from a Suzuki dealer was only about £40.

Can it be repaired? If so does anyone know any good places in the south east?

As always thanks.

Kev

Not repaired as such but you can Re-skin the packing. Loads of places will do this in any fabric or material you fancy, wouldnt cost much.

You could just buy another off ebay, plenty about on there for resonable prices.

http://www.tonyarcher.co.uk/ has a very good reputation, you would have to post it to him though.

+ 1000000 on that one. He put a gel thing in the Raptor seat for £60. I'm thinking of sending my OEM gel seat to him and having it re-covered, as everyone knows that the fabric collects water like a nappy. It was an old thread on here that really made me decide

http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.p...ht=tony+archer

I'm thinking of having it done like my corbin seat, a little like this one, but without the big S in the middle

Yup, I took DBs recommendation and put it to the test. TA sorted out a new foam for my future father in laws Aprilia and he loves it. Think it was £40.

Im thinking of taking my car seat to him as the bolster at the bottom has dropped. Cant see it being that expensive with the rates he charges.

Brilliant Rob . Wondered if you ever ended up using him. YC asked the other day about him too, think hes thinking of using him for his RD seat. I can't believe how cheap he is, judging by the quality of his work

Thing is with TA, you go to his workshop and it looks a bit like a cowboy outfit. Tiny little unit, nowt fancy going on in there but a big table and a few old blokes sitting around drinking tea with the oldest Singer sewing machine in the corner. Then you look on the shelf at some of the stuff he has waiting for people and the quality is second to none. He's right near to the Galpharm stadium (Uddersfield FC) and a bit tricky to find but worth the trip.

Outfits like this are often the best, not interested in having a blinging place, just interested in doing a good job.

Might get my seat done too. Got a gel one which cost a fourtune on evilbay. Wish I'd known about this fella before
