did you have the problem before you fitted cable and oil?

it probably just needs adjusting, i think it can be done at the lever, but somone will be along in a few mins that actuly know what they are on about

Check your oil level again if you did change it last week (not sure from your reply to breadboy whether you checked, or changed it) - overfilling has been known to cause clutch/gearbox problems in the past.

You need to adjust the worm drive, sounds like it needs a small tweak inward.

Just to be absolutely clear, the "lifter arm" and "lifter locknut" referred to in the above concise instructions are to be found behind the gearbox sprocket cover. Note the cover is plastic so no need to overtighten the screws when you refit it, just a gentle nip.

It's worth taking the lifter off, just 2 M6 screws (10mm spanner/socket), and grease the helix and ball bearings. The lifter lever will simply rotate out of the body and you'll see the ball bearings, which should stay captive in the cage (if they don't you need a new one anyway!).

Grease and refit, there are a couple of positions it can end up in, if it seems totally wrong take it out and move round a slot in the helix. Digital camera is useful if you are in any doubt before taking anything apart. Don't overtighten screws.

Run some thin oil down the cable while you're about it.

Does it happen when the engine is warm? Mine pulls forward very slightly when first putting the bike in gear when the engine is cold. Once its warm though all is normal.
