advice needed RE caliper leak.

right as im sure some of you know im probably the most annoying person to ever undertake a caliper overhaul and have had nothing but hastle from it as i mentions in my other thread (only starting this one for specific answer) i had a leak from the rear caliper and had to take it apart and was waiting for a washer.

washer came today so put it back on the bike and went about bleeded it......again the leak started so took it off and found that it was leaking from behind the piston but the seal hadnt come out of its place this time. So i calmly done the refurb once more took out the seals cleaned/greased/fitted them back and the same for the piston and put it back on the bike. now this time all seemed well had nearly finished bleeding the caliper when i noticed a drip again!!!!

now why the F*** is it leaking, its a brand new seal there is no damage to the piston/caliper but when ever i press down the brake you hear fluid leaking and low and behold a drip appears.

I really am at the verge of breaking point as have no idea wtf im doing wrong as the other half of the caliper is fine

so please save my sanity and help me out!!

or should i just take it to a garage and admit defeat?

Where exactly is the leak coming from now?

Are the two halves of the caliper torqued up together correctly, and did you also clean both the surfaces to insure you had a clean join?

yeah its all torqued properly and surface was clean but its actually coming from behind the piston between the seals?? you can see clearly where it comes from when you take it apart, could the seal be faulty?

It could be. Were the pistons cleaned up with Scotchbrite before you put them back in?

they are literally spotless last time i had them out and when doing the first re-build they were cleaned yes.

Are there any heavy scores in the pistons? - Nope perfect
Are all the seals still looking happy? - they are brand new!
Are the seals definatly symetrical? some calipers have seals which are slightly chamfered so there is a right and wrong way to put them in. Can't remember if this applies to the curvy SV caliper - they have been tried both ways?

Are the 2 halves of the caliper joining properly with seals at both fluid passages? - its leaking from the piston not the join....

Is the caliper damaged?

just took all the seals out and when i thought it was the dust seal leaking i may have been wrong as the piston seal has a chunk missing!

only problem is i had phoned wemoto saying it may have been the wrong kit and now if i call saying one of the seals is broken they might just think im changing stories??

what would you do?

Phone them up and explain, send them that photo in an email, they've been very good in the past, I'm sure they can send you a replacement. Alternativly do you still have the original seals? I'd use the best looking one of them in it's place

I would definitely say that's your problem.

I'd give them a ring and see what they say, wemoto has pretty good aftersales service

That is your problem, you need a new seal.

Wemoto are usually very good, email them the picture if you have too.
