Default GSXR Dyno time.

Took the GSXR to JHS Racing today to get a Full Stainless Steel Yoshimura R55 System, BMC Race Filter, Power Commander III and custom map!!!

First of all what a great service JHS Provide, ride in ride out service, no fuss and plenty of input and updates on the work going on. Plus Vicky on the desk isn't bad either ..

Well onto the bike, they started the day by dyno'ing my bike in stock form (the results you will see) then fitted the PCIII, had a little fun getting to the lower injectors but luckily the connections pivot so it wasn't as fiddly as it could have been.

Then the BMC Race filter, this filter keeps the stock airbox which i'm happy about because of the ram air intakes!!

Then the system, what a beauty it is too. Sitting in the waiting room i hear this low rumbling sound and hope its my bike, to which i hear the sweet sound of it on full chat on the dyno. OMG it's unbelievable, loud as feck compared to stock i have to keep it in 6th at 30 to make it sound half legal. I'm in love all over, the sound of the micron on my old SV was louder than the Stock GSXR so the sound of the R55 system is music to my ears.

Now onto the Dyno run, you can see the graph below. Not the stupidly high 120bhp i was predicting but a more realistic number that i'm more than happy with. It's improved everywhere on stock so it's been worthwhile. It's now running the same as the cup gsxr600's that they have set up.

Sorry for the Cr@p pics, was late when i got back from playing!!
Oh and sound clip is on the way when it's downloaded, the clip doesn't do it justice but you'll get the idea plus you can hear back to back with the slip-on R55...

SOUND CLIP

Full System.....

Slip-on...

A nice result, and they've smoothed out the torque dip that you can see around 7k.

Tempted by an exhaust in the long term, but a lot of the TDs are strict on noise, as the Nurburgring so I'm keeping mine stock, for a little while anyway.

Looks like you have a healthy engine in there kwak Nice to see the mods really smoothed out the power, most notably the dip between 6000 and 8000 rpm. Nice torque curve too. The dyno print out shows 600's arn't the peaky, revvy, horrific motorcycles motorcycle crap news would have you believe

bike looks nice and clean (what else would i expect from you). Have you done some pre-emtive greasing of things like the brake parts? things like the pad retaining pins?

The k6/7's are bloody loud as stock anyway. The K8 is like a moped compared to yours!! JHS said they struggle to get the K6/7's to comform to track DB limits. The only way they could do it was to stick a Leo-vince full length can on and even then it was close!!

Matt, you're too busy looking at the bike to notice its Rich not Kwak . I did feel the need to clean my bike when i got home though, i think i've caught what kwak used to have ..

Sounds like fun to me - I've got my eye on an R77 system in carbon, and yours does sound pretty addictive

I am SO jealous ! makes my yoshi end can (bought from you !) pale into insignificance.

Must have a closer inspection next time i see you. BTW, the rear Wavy looks fab now i can see it properly, shows how much was covered with the stock exhaust.
