Out yesterday 1/2 way between Hertford and Hatfield, accelerating hard out of a roundabout 3rd----4th----Nothing. Where's the gear shift gone, link adjusting bar had snapped and dropped both ends down. Very luck in that I rolled into a bus stop instead of being on a busy dual carriageway[A414]
As luck would have it there was a plant demolition firm about 300mts back down the road-------VERY-VERY Nice man welded it back together, for free ![]() The one saving grace is that my tool roll is not standard but made up with spanners and keys that fit 95% of fixings on my bike therfore no great problem THE WORLD STILL HAS SOME NICE PEOPLE ![]() ![]() ![]() IMHO it is worth a few quid to enlarge the standard tool roll by investing in £20 worth of extra spanners allan keys for emergencies To crown it off Mr Artylady had a spare one which he gave me for free so we are brand new again ANOTHER VERY VERY NICE MAN ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Dicky Ticker; 27-02-09 at 12:41 PM. |

I have experienced twice, that there are nice people around. Once when I had my 125 and my gear bar thingy fell off, and I rolled to a stop outside a house with a bandit in the garden. The second time when I was on the back of the raptor and came down a dual carriage way in Grantham to a roundabout and the push rod jobbie came loose. Luck would have it that we rolled round the roundabout and into a services!! By the time Im Indoors came out of the services scratching his head, I'd got a nice man with a load of tools to put a nice new nut on it

That's ace.
Always nice when you go into somewhere wondering if they are going to turn you away only to help you more than expected! Nice when you breakdown and fellow bikers pullover to help out. |
