Hi people,
The picture (sorry if it's too large) is of a Hilti bolt which is used to tie scaffold to the building it surrounds. The looped part is 18mm thick with the eye being 55mm wide. I used one of these to anchor my scooter to my garden path when i lived in London and now use one in my garage. I don't claim that one of these will stop a determined thief, but it will defo stop an oppurtunist. And only costing around £8 i feel it is a very cheap security measure. ![]() By MightyBoosh |

I cant see the pic very well, is it just me?
How difficult is it to fit one of these? ie, what tools are needed and can an idiot (me) do it in an afternoon?

![]() Btw you can get some quite cheap ground anchors, talking £25-30 up, which might be better for the job. That loop looks good if you want a really cheap anchor though, so I don't sound like I'm trying to p*ss on your bonfire ![]() |

The holding peg has a bit in the middle which pushes out the splayed end. Only point is as the looped bit screws into the holding peg it must be located close enough to an object/ wall to stop it being unscrewed when in use. So not best used in an open area. Sorry about the pic. |

I use a piece of 25mm diameter steel re-bar, bent into a U shape, bedded in three bags of pre-mix concrete with wire coat hangers bent around the re-bar for added annoyance. Total cost, £12.

My grandad found something like that (bit thicker) that fell off a lorry (my mates also found one before wonder what they do) and made a monster anchor out of it, really good.
