Default Looking for a cheap runaround - fate?

I'm looking for a cheap runaround, max £750. Was originally looking for an old London cab, but not really any that cheap.

So I have been browsing the small adds looking for something cheap to buy with a bit of character for shipping the kids about.

Not found too much really, but big engine stuff is going cheap so worth a look. Anyway on autotrader I stumbled across a Jag XJ6 M reg a bit tatty, but a few hours with Autoglym in hand and it would look ok.........The number plate looks personalised to me being M93 KRH.

Is it fate? Should I stick a cheeky bid in?

Steer clear?

Yeah it is up for just over £750 or something I was thinking of asking my old man for a sub and offering £500 for it?

How does it work with getting a plate off of a car, I reckon that it was originally supplied with the car, so isn't a personalised one as such.

Funny thing is I was looking at a plate for the bike the other day too and one with my initials on was about £250. The wifes alfa has my plate I've owned for years, but it looks great on her car and wouldn't look right on the bike.

Is it going to be a money pit though? I only want it for the occasional days and school holidays.

Mate, that reminds me of the motor from Snatch with Vinnie Jones' character "Bullet Tooth Tony" drove.

You could put in a cheeky bid, worst case - it claps out after 6 weeks, the kids will be back at school and you'll have a good Private Plate.

yaay.

it should last you a while though...as it's a solid built British Motor...built to last. Just need some time spent on it.
