Default Took the zaust off my cg - will it damage it?

My exhaust needs a bit of a clean, so i took it off just now and ill polish it tomorrow.
Out of curiosity i turned on the engine, and it made a very strange bubbling noise (imagine putting your mouth in a sink of water and blowing).
I turned it off after a few seconds because i was a bit concerned.
I obviously dont want to run it without an exhaust, but it will be interesting to see what it sounds like.
Ive seen enough youtube vids of faster bikes without any exhaust, and people seem to say that it doesnt harm the bike, just loses a bit of power, but when it made that sound i was a bit worried despite this.

Is there any way this would damage my bike?

Hmmm... i was kind of hoping for a meaty sound... but it just made me laugh
I'll give it a go in the morning at see what it sounds like at higher revs.

Im a bit worried about the hot air damaging the frame. There seems to be a plastic coating on the frame, and the exhaust hole is pointing towards it.
