Question Reevu Helmets

My local boys in Blue are currently testing these and seem mightily impressed so far.

Has anyone here tried them / have any opinions on them

an interesting concept. BUT, having looked at 'what you see', I'm afraid that would seriously make me feel sick! Also i'm not convinced that the lights at night from behind wouldn't be a problem.

I'd have to trial this for a week before I'd consider buying one.. Besides it just makes people lazy. You have mirrors on your bike and you have a neck. USE IT.

Unless you have a Ducati and then yes you have mirrors but what f**king use are they?
Saying that however I now know the back of my elbow better than the back of my hand.

If your elbow pulls out to overtake you, you know there's a problem

As far as I know there are still not at general release, as I'm still waiting on a e-mail from them to say when there are... might give them a poke.

I tried one on at a show a few years back just to see what the big deal was. A good idea let down by the reality of riding a bike imho.

Problem with it was that unlike in a car where the rear mirror is fixed no matter what position your head is in, this system by its very nature means the mirror is always moving.

meaning that if you need to take a long look at something ehind you for whatever reason, then you really need to keep your head pretty damn still to do it.
In a car for example you culd turn your head to look over your shoulder slightly and then just glance back at your rear view quickly. You cant with this lid.

And after a min of walking round the show i found the mirror being constantly "on" beacame a bit distracting as ther was no way to swith it "off". I can ignore my side mirrors for bloody ages if i wish to but not this cos its just above your line of sight.

Got a thumbs down from me.
