My Pitbike Supermoto Debut

Well, at the weekend I ventured out for the first time on the pitbike I've been prepping over the winter. I already race a sidecar with the MMRA and these here pitbikes looked damn good fun.

My first mistake was buying really cheap tyres (i'm only out for fun, not spending a fortune). After a few warmup laps, started pressing on a little, and the front end decided it didn't want to be in contact with the track anymore - of it goes sliding down the track with me in tow. Next lap, corner before, same again - back to the pits I come

A quick trip to the parts van see's me buying some rather spanky sticky Sava inters, and being £80 lighter - boo hoo.

Next outing is like a different bike. It now sticks . But this then highlighted another problem, the rear shock had no dampening, so it were a little bouncy to say the least. Mid corner, cranked over with the **** end hopping 2" off the floor is not the best feeling in the world, but it gave the spectators a giggle.

So anyway, managed to get laptimes down by 7 seconds over the weekend - and had a bloody good laugh. No where near the race pace, but that might come, lol.

Must do's for next meeting:
New rear shock
Lower rise bars (arms hurt like hell)
Buy more beer
