The insurance thing depends on insurer, tell them bike is restricted, ask if they need proof. 99% don't require any proof.

Not sure of the full legal stuff here, but I think you just tell them the bike is restricted much like you declare anything else on insurance. If it turns out you are lying then you will not be covered in the event of a claim. The certificate makes life easy all round, but doesnt actually prove the bike is restricted(you could remove it)any more than not having the certificate proves the bike is not restricted.

I'm restricted and the woman said on the phone "do you have the A2 license?" I replied yes and she said "insurance valid from tomorrow, have fun and take care".
![]() Out of 4 friends who ride none have been asked for proof of restriction, I believe they're with.. Bennetts (2), Carole Nash, MCE, and I'm with Devitt. |

I'm in the 33bhp club too... Done my insurance online, there's not even a question asking if your restricted
![]() All you need to know is what model the ecu is off to know whether it fits. I think the K7 onwards isn't compatible, so K3 to K6 will be fine. You can get a second hand one a lot cheaper than one from the dealers, but its up to you... I paid £50/60 for mine If you are fitting yourself have a look at this thread: http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=131382&highlight=swap+ecu |
