Question how to hold the front end while removing forks

tried using a jack ,bike was swinging all over the place and im doing two bikes so im not laying out for two proper stands ,forks being swapped betwen bikes at same time

Saw some one on here use a ladder( over the bike ) and a heavy duty ratchet strap through the frame under the tank.

Seemed to work alright.

mine stood on house bricks and a piece of wood but a rope round the head stock up to a garage beam might help to keep it stable.

well i actualy didnt use the rope idea but it stood just fine on house bricks and wood.

are they ridable?

come up here and sling it from my engine lift. Or I can shove it in the back of the car a lend it to you

Jack under the sump with a rag on it, lean it over.

3 points of contact; sidestand, jack, back wheel.

Stable enough, but crack all the bolts loose before you jack it up.

cheers wilky lad but no they are not ride able so would have do annoy you to drop it off and probably use your knowledge in the spanner wrenching department

I used a jack. On other bikes I've used a ladder and rope.
