Question RAC or AA breakdown cover

It's that time of year again , just got my renewal for RAC £123.50 for 2 person Roadside & Recovery on any vehicle

New Business quote for same cover from RAC £97.25 , which I'm sure I would get after a phone call .

Checked AA out for same cover and cost is £97.88 however as new policy could get quid co cash back of £40 making cost £57.88 which sounds good .

Any one had experience with AA re service for bikes & cars ?

Cheers Steveg

When I was looking for recovery and breakdown, I figured in the end it was cheaper to wait until my renewal and go with carol nash.

How long until your insurance is due?

+1 on carol nash, worth it as they have the people with the right kit for bikes, unlike some places. I also got a good insurance quote from them too....Lets the 09 one is as good.

I did mine with my insurance, always been with RAC. Think it costs me 35 quid for all the features and europe etc. Happy with them really, never had to wait too long when rear tyre popped or when i had a knock, so am probably not going to stray from them

I used my Tesco clubcard points to pay for the RAC cover. It makes sure there used for a good reason.

RAC will recover you after an accident, AA will not (covered on here somewhere). So for a bike, where the chances of a minor spill rendering you immobile is pretty high, RAC win for me. They have bike specific vans to, but AA catching up on that one.

I've used the AA quite a bit recently and can't recommend them highly enough, great service and even sent out a biker patrol last time. I'm not sure about them coming out after a spill but I'm not planning on testing that anyway. I pay 7 quid a month and I'm covered in any vehicle, even as a passenger. I can add a second person with the same cover for a quid extra a month
