Let's get some of the basics out of the way.
What have you got installed on your PC - just the client tools or is your pc also a database server? |

It's just a normal laptop. Don't know about the client tools but it's not a database server.
After I installed sony vegas the Sync Center icon appeared in the system tray. Basically I want rid of the icon, but I also don't like being syncronised with a microsoft server ![]() I've done some googling and can't find a way of getting rid of it or disabling it. Just wondering if anyone has a solution |

I think you're getting your wires crossed here!!!!
Your original thread title mentions Microsoft's SQL Server product but your last post mentions a Sony product. Please explain/expand! |

Well in the Sync Centre there is a sync set up with the Microsoft SQL Server 2000
The Sync Centre icon only appeared in the system tray after I installed sony vegas, and after some googling it seems that it was sony vegas that made it appear. |

Right, it sounds like the Sony vegas stuff connects to a sql db - either locally on your machine (possibly to save some work that you're doing in vegas) or it connects to an external server (maybe for some updates or some other reason).
Don't remove it. It could be integral to the working of your sony app. |

Ahh, now we're getting somewhere. When you uninstalled the cony app, it should have removed all the tools it came with, it looks like it may not have done though - or failed mid-unistall.
If you're sure this is something to do with the sony app (like 100% sure, and it's nothing work related!!!) then: Start -> Settings -> Contol Panel -> Programs & Features Find the program you want to remove & uninstall |
