Default Are Clocks Requirement to Run?

Kind of an odd question as its a project, but are clocks a requirment for the bike to run? I mean if they are unplugged will the bike be able to start/run?

I have a curvy which didnt come with a sub-loom so I just wired the kill switch back into the main loom and it ran fine. I picked up another sub-loom and have put all the wiring back like it should be (still missing clocks though) and now I doesnt start. Before I study the electrical guide and re-check all the wirining - just thought I'd ask...

Curvey should still run with no clocks, it's the pointies that don't AFAIK

I started mine today without clocks as long as you have the hand controls plugged in so the clutch switch works i just jumbed the switch with a piece of wire but maybe it would have started anyway because the stand was up and in neutral

....OK and one more I should have also asked. Are the clocks required for the headlights to work as well? I noticed no power coming through to these as well.

Pointies don't need the clocks to run.

If you don't have power to the lights then perhaps a more fundamental problem. Fuses

Do the other electrical bits such as horn/indicators work. All of that stuff is a pretty basic circuit so if those aren't working then you need to check the simple stuff first. Once that works, not starting is likely to be clutch/sidestand switch etc.

Good luck!
