Default Reasonable price or not?

I've recently passed my test and looking for an SV for under £1500.

I've found one and was just wondering if it sounds good for the price?

The advert reads as follows:

- 2000, W reg,

- 13,550 miles,

- Blue, full fairing, hugger, double bubble screen, Thatcham CAT1 alarm.

- Just had a full service and MOT, 6m tax. Tyres almost new, chain and sprockets good, new brake linings. There is a full set of keys, alarm fobs, documentation, including user handbook, plus original toolkit.

The original exhaust system, original screen, rear seat tidy and Haynes manual are available for sale. £1,500.

It's pretty local to me so I'm quite interested.

from what you've written sounds about right but without seeing it most people will prob tell you the same. At the face of it though its your new bike!

Just added a picture of it.

Yeah I thought it sounded like a decent price. What are the main things I should look for if I go to view the bike? Any issues specific to the SV?

The one I originally posted has been sold

Found another though and was just wondering if anyone could help me. I've seen a picture of it and it looks, to me, that there is a dent or something in the left hand side of the tank (Next to the Suzuki logo). Here's a picture of it

They don't mention anything about a dent in the description or anything though. Wht do you guys reckon?

Give them a call and ask them a few questions about the dent, MOT Tax etc the same sort of general crap you'd expect. Someone will be on shortly to go into details on what to look for in an inspection but tbh, if its your first bike you'll be too damn excited to think and you'll buy it even if its a shed

I don't actually think it's a dent now. From looking at other pics of 2000 SV's it just seems to be the shape of the tank at the front. I'm going to view it tommorow anyway.

It's done 18,500 miles, has a Data Tool Thatcham approved alarm, scorpion exhaust (road legal) crash bobbins, and new battery. Taxed till Dec 09 & 12 months MOT. He's asking £1,499 ONO.

How much you reckon I should offer?

check the clearances have been done on a bike from 14-18k. these are the most expensive part on a service. Providing there's not visible crash damage go for it.
